Susan began working with delinquent and runaway youth while in college. She was impressed by the lack of services available to them and their families. It was from those experiences that she chose to commit herself to becoming a Child, Adolescent and Family Therapist. She attended Syracuse University School of Social Work graduating with a Master's Degree in Family Mental Health Systems. For 23 years her career path led her to serve the indigent population in a range of settings. She has worked as therapist, clinical case manager, field instructor for graduate students, supervisor, house parent, unit manager and administrator. She has also pursued specialized training in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Bereavement and Behavior Modification. Now in private practice she utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Behavior Modification, Progressive Relaxation Training and many other modalities. She uses a directive rather than a non-directive approach and believes a thorough diagnostic assessment is key to the agreed upon treatment plan with all consumers. Currently, she provides psychotherapy to adults, children, adolescents, families and couples. Her resume is available upon request.
