Lisa Barnes is the Intake Specialist for The Women’s Mental Health Center at Psych Associates of Maryland. Lisa has 29 years of experience in the medical field. Lisa is the first line at our center, the first friendly voice you will encounter and the first shoulder to lean on. She brings tremendous compassion and caring each time she answers the phone. She meets patients where they are and coaches them through the intake process. Knowing that patients often arrive at the women’s center in distress, Lisa provides comfort and kindness at a time when women need it the most.
While currently in the role of intake specialist, Lisa is engaged in a Master’s program to become a licenced clinical social work counselor (LCSW-C) at Walden University. Upon arrival at Psych Associates Maryland, Lisa had an immediate affinity for The Women’s Mental Health Center. She believes in the mission of our program and is committed to her future path, providing excellent, evidence-based therapy services to women. She has special interests in trauma, domestic abuse, PTSD, grief, adolescents, depression, anxiety and low self-esteem. As a part of her clinical training experiences, she will be working with the women’s center to develop a wide range of experience and specialized training in Women’s mental health.
