Chaya Spigelman joined the Women’s Health Center at Psych Associates of Maryland shortly after its inception. She is a Physician Assistant (PA) who works alongside Dr. Julie Brownley to provide exceptional psychiatric care to women, including diagnostic evaluation and medication management.
Chaya received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Art History from Yeshiva University Stern College for Women in Manhattan, NY. She then worked as an Emergency Medical Technician in both New York and Maryland before applying to PA school. She graduated from the Towson University/CCBC Essex Collaborative Physician Assistant Program in 2017. She was the honored recipient of the “PA’s PA” Award as well as a selected member of the Pi Alpha National Honor’s Society.
Following PA school, Chaya worked as a critical care PA in a community hospital intensive care unit. During that tenure, she garnered invaluable experience in patient and family counseling during extremely difficult and emotionally tumultuous times. With three years of experience in critical care medicine, Chaya joins the field of psychiatry with the goal of creating positive patient relationships and experiences in the process of improving womens’ mental health.
