Is Telehealth a Good Fit for You?

If you answer yes to any of the following questions, Telehealth will be a good fit for you.

  • Do you have chronic conditions that prevent you from leaving your home?
  • Do you want to schedule an appointment but cannot take off from work?
  • Do you live in a rural area with limited access to healthcare?
  • Do you want to schedule an appointment but cannot because you homeschool/watch your kids?
  • Do you want to seek care but cannot because of a lack of transportation?

Will Telehealth Really Work for Mental Health?

We understand that some people may be skeptical about the efficacy of telehealth in mental healthcare. However, studies continue to find that patients who receive teletherapy or telepsychiatry experience outcomes that are at least as good as those who receive in-person care. In some studies, telehealth patients improve their mental health more than their counterparts because they can attend appointments on a more regular basis.

Is My Information Kept Private Through Telehealth Appointments?

Psych Associates of Maryland takes privacy and security very seriously. For all teletherapy and telepsychiatry appointments, we use secure, HIPAA compliant platforms that follow security and encryption protocols to ensure that data privacy is maintained. In accordance with HIPAA, Psych Associates of Maryland will not record or store any video, images, or audio of your telehealth appointment.

What Will You Need for Telehealth Appointments?

To attend a telehealth appointment, you will need a device such as a desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone that has a good internet connection and a working webcam and microphone. If you are not sure whether your device will work, please feel free to call us at 410-823-6408 or email us at telehealth@pamllc.us.

If you’re not sure whether your device will work, please feel free to contact us.

Will Your Insurance Plan Cover Telehealth Appointments?

Most insurance plans cover telehealth. However, we encourage all patients to contact their insurance companies before booking their appointments.
