Dr. Safiyyah Abdul-Rahman is originally from Philadelphia, PA and spend her formative years in Milwaukee, WI.

She obtained her medical training from The George Washington University School of Medicine and completed residency at the University of Maryland and Sheppard Pratt Psychiatry Program, where she served as chief resident during her final year. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the Maryland Psychiatric Society. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (P).

Since leaving residency, she served as the inpatient attending for Franklin Square Hospital Center for two years and currently works in their community outpatiend clinic. She joined Psych Associates of Maryland in 2009.
