Ms. Sugel provides individual, couples, and family therapy for children, adolescents and adults. She has a special interest and expertise in the areas of trauma, depression, anxiety, separation/loss, grief/bereavement, relationship issues, military families, addiction, divorce/custody arrangements, adoption and parenting.
Ms. Sugel is licensed as a Certified Clinical Social Worker and recognized as a Clinical Supervisor by Maryland's Board of Social Work Examiners. She is also licensed with New York State's Office of the Professions as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and currently provides consultation to schools and mental health programs in New York City that provide therapeutic services to children, adolescents and families.
Before joining Psych Associates of Maryland, LLC, Ms. Sugel was a Clinical Supervisor at Kennedy Krieger Institute providing services to traumatized children and families. Prior to that, she was in private practice in New York City and was employed by St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Center's (SVCMC) World Trade Center Healing Services as a Clinical Supervisor and therapist providing therapeutic services to those New Yorkers impacted by the events of September 11th.
Leslie completed her graduate studies at New York University and advanced clinical training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, a Psychoanalytic Institute, in Manhattan. Ms. Sugel has been extensively trained in various Evidence Based Practices, specifically those that address trauma, and currently trains other clinicians in these practices. |
